SMACK YOUR MAMA GOOD
BRISKET AT GET FRESH CAFÉ
You may know of all the great produce and other Virginia specialty food products you can get inside Norfolk’s Five Points Community Farm Market, but did you know there is a restaurant inside that has the same commitment to fresh and local?
The Get Fresh Café, headed by Chef Michael Holdcraft, serves up some amazing food but I was recently smitten by his brisket.
Rubbed with his own special mix of spices and herbs, it is smoked for 13 hours until it is so tender you can cut it with a fork. He serves it with two housemade sauces – a South Carolina mustard style and a Kansas City tomato/molasses style and some amazing corn on the cob.
Get Fresh Café is inside the Five Points Community Farm Market at 2500 Church St., Norfolk. For more information call 757-966-6577 or visit www.5PtsFarmMarket.org
